Position Title: Store Manager

Reports to:  Corporate Personnel

 

FSLA: Non- Exempt/ Exempt

 

Position Summary: The Store Manager operates a profitable and service-minded business through the successful development of a team that can consistently deliver results. They are responsible for all aspects of managing a single store including but not limited to: managing store associates and overseeing store operations to achieve sales, service and customer satisfaction, profitability goals, community and marketing outreach. Responsibilities also include creating a positive and productive store environment, which represents the Peek brand in the highest standards.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Customer Focus:

  • Begins and maintains relationships with customers by creating client profiles and any necessary follow up communication
  • Leads by example by ensuring a positive customer experience for all who visit a Peek store in line with the Peek Customer Experience Model
  • Maintains a visually enticing store that is neat, clean, organized and consistently up to Peek visual standards
  • Diffuses customer issues by acting in the best interest of the customer with integrity of the brand
  • Prioritizes workload to maximize efficiency and minimize impact on customer experience
  • Demonstrates extraordinary service by leading by example on the sales floor
  • Participates in the customer experience as needed by facilitating seamless customer service

People and Self Development:

  • Provides timely and constructive feedback to associates on performance
  • Creates incentives through coaching and professional development
  • Takes ownership of continual self- training and professional development
  • Adapts management style as necessary to the audience
  • Maintains a positive and productive work environment for team
  • Able to identify, recruit, develop and retain store personnel that reflects the needs of the business
  • Trains and holds team accountable to Peek standards
  • Receptive to feedback and able to modify as necessary

Sales and Profitability:

  • Performs area of responsibilities with competence and minimal supervision        
  • Delivers results in all Key Performance Indicators
    • Inventory management: responsible for inventory results and shrink, processing and accepting inventory into system
    • Develops and executes strategies to drive business to comp LY sales and achieve sales plan
    • Continuously analyzes the business to optimize results with a focus on Key Performance Indicators
    • Operates business profitably and minimize potential for loss
    • Utilizes resources and store processes to maximize payroll efficiency
    •  Creates marketing opportunities by developing local relationships

 

Effective Communication:

  • Demonstrates consistent, clear and detailed written and verbal communication with all company personnel
  • Participates in store meetings, management meetings, and corporate visits
  • Provides feedback and analysis on store business through weekly recap
  • Partners with Corporate Personnel in Peek communication chain
  • Engages the store team in a manner that is respectful and professional
  • Provides feedback and offers possible solutions to corporate /store business partners
  • Participates in company conference calls by addressing company initiatives and business analysis
  • Keeps the team abreast of corporate direction through one on ones and management meetings
  • Sets clear expectations to store personnel and provides direction on how to achieve

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Peek management from time to time
  • Achieve regular attendance in accordance with company policy and standards
  • Comply fully with all Peek rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the store and all Peek facilities

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • 5+ years retail management experience
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to relay product knowledge and services
  • Strong eye for fashion
  • Ability to perform effective selling techniques to achieve sale and repeat business
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective management skills 
  • Retail math knowledge
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to actively supervise the sales floor
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and point of sales
  • Able to travel to other stores within the region and corporate office in San Francisco
  • Children’s apparel experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift /carry/move 40 lbs maximum including fixtures and product
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening, speaking and visual acuity
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment
