Position Title:                   Director of Marketing

Reports to:                         General Manager

Location:                             San Francisco

 

Position Summary:  Peek Kids is looking for its first Director of Marketing to work in our San Francisco corporate offices.  We are seeking a dynamic leader who is ready to drive Peek’s marketing strategy and execution. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the overall marketing strategy for Peek. You will also be responsible for developing and leading Peek’s communications, media and PR strategies. In this position you will have the ability to make a meaningful contribution to a rapidly growing company and a great brand.

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the strategic development of marketing plans, and support the development of marketing tactics, that drive traffic and strengthen brand awareness in our stores and online.
  • Develop ongoing brand, marketing and promotion analysis; report on effectiveness and provide recommendations for changes and improvements based on evaluation of analysis.
  • Create a strategic roadmap for the development of all key in-store and external marketing channels, including Nordstrom.
  • Liaise with the store leadership team to define the strategic direction for the marketing campaigns within a season.
  • Leverage in-store experiences, promotions and events to support and enhance the broader marketing message and strengthen Peek’s local presence in each of our geographic markets.
  • Manage relationships with Nordstrom to leverage marketing opportunities and ensure brand consistency within Nordstrom.
  • Partner closely with E-commerce on social media strategy, execution and content/asset creation.
  • Manage brand consistency across all marketing communications and in-store collateral.
  • Develop relationships and manage communications resources to drive market awareness, media coverage, and word of mouth among key influencers, analysts, and the media through media and social channels.
  • Manage the expense planning and budgeting process to ensure that projects are delivered on budget.
  • Oversee and facilitate the execution of campaigns as they are executed in-store.
  • Establish, track and assure adherence to marketing budgets, launch schedules, campaign and marketing objectives.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years in marketing, brand development, communications, and media and/or related marketing experience in the retail or consumer industry; bonus points for experience in children’s or women’s retail sector
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Have scaled a high-growth company and know what that looks and feels like
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, both online and offline
  • Passion for building strong retail brands
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest, Foursquare, blogs, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Must be a creative thinker and be a good creative writer, samples welcome
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills; ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships and gain the trust and respect of cross-functional teams, in-store teams and retail partners
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, resourceful and adept at prioritizing and juggling multiple projects at once to meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive approach to projects, always thinking ahead and devising contingency plans
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, exhibiting flexibility, professionalism and a positive attitude
  • Fluency and experience managing and integrating digital marketing programs (email, SEM, SEO, Social) to consumer audiences
  • Expert knowledge of online marketing tools, technology, user practices and industry direction
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Strong financial and business analytics acumen
  • Be results-oriented, with a discipline of measurement and improvement
