Marketing Communications Coordinator

Peek Kids, a children's premium clothing designer and retailer is looking for a Marketing Communications Coordinator to lead the execution of in-store events, marketing communications, and manage the brand's social media program. Additional activities include supporting the execution of seasonal marketing strategies that increase brand awareness and drive traffic, such-as; project coordination, writing and editing copy, event calendar management and other administrative duties as assigned.

The ideal Marketing Coordinator is an organized, self-starter who enjoys writing, is familiar with the Social Media landscape, can navigate their way around a Party City and has a passion for fashion. This entry level position reports to the Director of Marketing.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

Event Management

  • Analyze, review, and recommend in-store marketing events, supporting the brand’s direct-to-consumer business objectives that drive traffic and increase sales.
  • Develop, plan and execute traffic-driving initiatives, working within budget and scheduling requirements.
  • Prepare and communicate individual campaign strategies and objectives to internal and external teams.
  • Analyze results and build recommendations for future programs; evaluate ROI.
  • Prepare detailed project plans and event timelines to ensure timely promotion and coordination among internal and external business partners, vendors and community.
  • Coordinate with store managers on event logistics, operational capacity and staffing to ensure that events are seamlessly integrated into the store experience.
  • Research, evaluate, hire and manage a variety of kid-friendly vendors in such areas as decor, food and beverage and entertainment.
  • Successfully manage and coordinate multiple events, in multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Work with in-house design team and E-commerce to deliver printed and digital marketing materials, invitations and signage related to events and promotions.

Mall/Center Marketing and Communications

  • Act as the liaison between malls/centers (where Peek stores are located), marketing and PR partners and the company.
  • Evaluate and determine ROI of ongoing community, mall and center activities, events and programs initiated by our mall/center and retail partners.
  • Participate in weekly store leadership calls and report on marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate in-store seasonal marketing projects to deliver printed and digital marketing materials, invitations and signage related to events and promotions related to mall/center and community partners.

 Social Media

  • Own, grow and elevate the brand’s social media program through a consistent focus on:
    • Great design, images and inspirations, reflecting the brand filters and values
    • Solid, thoughtful content and messaging; great writing
    • A purposeful promotional strategy that supports brand and merchandising initiatives
    • Engaging and communicating with our users across multiple channels
    • Proactively reacting and responding to customer posts and comments in a voice that creates connection to our brand
  • Attract and engage new and existing customers and drive more traffic to our website and into stores.

 Marketing Support

  • Participate in the development and execution of seasonal marketing plans and promotions that support the organization’s objectives.
  • Support the company in achieving organizational sales goals by identifying new marketing opportunities that drive brand awareness, increase traffic and sales across all channels.
  • Collaborate with respective departments on the successful integration of marketing initiatives, events, promotions, and social media campaigns that increase brand/product awareness while supporting brand and merchandising initiatives.
  • Research and report on consumer insights, market trends, and opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with external vendors and internal partners.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree required (marketing, journalism/public relations or a related field).
  • Previous marketing, public relations, events and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Outgoing, positive, team player with willingness to listen and learn. Must have a get-it-done attitude!
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Previous retail experience is a huge plus!
  • Must love kids.
