Distribution Analyst

The Distribution Analyst is responsible for effectively managing store inventory levels to support overall sales and inventory plans. The Allocation team is collaborative and partners closely with the Merchandising Planning and Field, eCommerce and Store Operations teams. The analyst manages all the allocation functions, systems, and processes necessary to maintain appropriate store inventory levels. Allocation of Inventory from Distribution Center to stores via current system (Excel & Island Pacific).

Reports to the Head of Planning & Distribution.


  • Utilize and control the store allocation systems.
  • Develop allocation strategies to improve sell thru at the store, style, color and size level.
  • Ensure stores maintain appropriate in-stock, service levels, and weeks on hand objectives.
  • Set up appropriate system parameters, profiles, safety stocks, display minimums, etc., to achieve store/item in stock goals and objectives.
  • Manage allocation system to ensure rate of sales can be achieved.
  • Set-up and maintenance of the allocation system to ensure timely processing of new, current, and discontinued merchandise.
  • Plan and execute allocations to support Visual floor sets. Support specialized store assortments as needed .
  • Resolve allocation issues as needed.
  • Provide various sales recaps by Season Code, Division, Style, color and size. Provides reports and purchase orders of excess inventory supplied to our external business partners.
  • Provides inbound and outbound communication to the Distribution Warehouse.
  • Work closely with Buyers and Planners to collaborate and drive allocation strategies, and ensure alignment with cross-functional partner
  • Participate in business meetings with strong point of view bringing allocation perspective to the table in regards to business improvement.
  • Special projects, analysis, and report assignments as needed.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • College Degree Required
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Adaptable to in- house inventory systems
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Time management and independent thinking a must
